Our last wedding was a bittersweet ending to our season for this year. The bride, Haley Hanson married Sikander Jan on October 15. It was a picture perfect and gorgeous Fall day. It was a joy to watch Haley's dad, Tim, prepare the patio for his daughter's wedding. It is always interesting to watch the patio transformed into the visions that people have and no two weddings are ever alike. This is such an exciting business! We are looking forward to enjoying the holidays, but excited for another new season to begin next year. As of today, we only have 4 dates available for next year (2 weekends in July and 2 weekends in August). See you next year!
Hallie Lenker and Jon Kohlbauer became husband and wife on Saturday. October 1. Hallie was another of our typically relaxed brides! She was delightful to work with and her entire wedding party were so pleasant and supportive of her. She set the tone early on and it made the day special and enjoyable for everyone.
Tamasin Swoap and Easton Reynolds became husband and wife on September 24 and enjoyed a beautiful reception by the riverside attended by many friends and family. We were honored to have Tamasin's 94 year old grandfather in attendance. A very touching moment when he arrived to witness the marriage of his granddaughter.
Sarah Bailey and Mike Shaw "tied the knot" on Sunday, September 18, at our venue by the Rappahannock River. They even had a symbolic rope to tie in a knot as part of their ceremony. Mike, along with several of his groomsman, have worked on the river with us for quite a few years. It was very emotional for us to watch this milestone in his life. The reception was joyous and we wish Mike, and his beautiful Sarah, a long and happily married life.
