In one week, Joe Scott and Terry Clancy will be having their wedding and reception at our venue. Joe had a wonderful idea for his proposal to Terry! He had planned to propose in downtown Fredericksburg in the horse drawn carriage on New Year's Eve. What is there not to love about such a romantic plan, however, New Year's Eve is such a busy time for the carriage and they were completely booked. He proposed to her on New Year's Day though, and she said "YES" and so we are looking forward to their wedding day on June 3.
Scott Beard and Stephanie Rollins exchanged their wedding vows on May 13. The ceremony was officiated by No Ordinary Ordained and their DJ, Brandon Hamilton, did a great job of keeping the party going and everyone dancing the night away. A wonderful evening!
The wedding of Kelly Riffle and Joseph Evans took place on May 6, 2017. Since Kelly is the owner of Potomac Pastries, we were very excited to see her cake or if she would have cupcakes. Well, the following pictures by Brittney Dodson will tell the story! She had both😋
Our first wedding of the season was Saturday, April 29, and the bride, Megan Brown, was the first to go over our new bridge leading out to the pergola. The groom, David Hernandez, anxiously waited for her to join him for their exchange of vows. A beautiful and sunny wedding day for a lovely couple.
On May 20, Nicole Casebolt and Alex Gilman will say their vows to each other at our venue . Their love story began at a local spot called Happy Endings and they are now celebrating the "Happy Beginning" of their life together. Alex serves our country in the Army Reserves and Nicole is an ICU nurse.
May 13 will be the wedding day for Scott Beard and Stephanie Rollins at our cabin on the Rappahannock River. Scott proposed to Stephanie after a nice dinner on the Potomac River and in keeping with the romantic setting of a beautiful river, they will also exchange their wedding vows riverside.
We are delighted to announce the wedding of Kelly Riffle and Joseph Evans on May 6. Kelly is the owner of Potomac Pastries and we are looking forward to seeing the cake that she chooses for her own wedding....or maybe cupcakes?? Can't wait.
Another year has flown by for us and before beginning our new wedding season, we celebrated our 51st wedding anniversary with a trip to New York and a Broadway play. We took the train up from Fredericksburg, and as the train pulled back into the station and we overlooked our beautiful city, it looked magical after the towering buildings of New York and the crowds of people. We love living here and sharing our property with couples that we hope will have marriages that will be as blessed as ours.
We are so happy to be starting a new season and working with all of the wonderful couples who have chosen our venue for their wedding. The first couple, Megan Brown and David Hernadez will say their vows on April 29. They are such a sweet couple and we look forward to their day.
Our wedding season is beginning on April 29.
It has been a wonderful break for us to have the opportunity to enjoy the holidays with our family and for Gene to get in some much needed down time. He and his buddies enjoy every Saturday on nearby property lovingly called, "the chicken shack" where they hunt, target practice, play cards and eat lots of good food. A place where "men become boys again". Now that Spring is here, we are excited to return to our piece of heaven by the river and welcome all of our wedding couples. See you soon💍 We had a cancellation on September 30, in case anyone is still looking for a venue.
